Since the Pro 1-V Detonator Bass Drum Pedals use a compression spring assembly rather than a contraction spring, I find the action to be completely superior. From brain to foot...nothing has been faster or easier for me. I can execute Heel/toe Double strokes effortlessly or any other type of "specialty" foot techniques with this pedal...and since the axel assembly to the slave pedal is built incredibly strong, there is no slippage or "play" in the joints.
The "on the fly" adjustments are amazing and fast. I get unbelievable options in foot-board height. Also beater throw length & height adjustments are a snap...and even have a pin-point marking system. The spring tension adjustment is out of this world and can be adjusted while you are playing! Try that with a typical pedal...
