Legacy Percussion Gear's Remote Speedy Hat
Remote Speedy Hat
Bill Bachman and Legacy Percussion Gear's new invention, the "Remote Speedy Hat" is a lovely piece of gear. Well thought out, well designed, incredible action and feel. Perfect for those who wish to pull the hat closer into the snare...even to the 12 O'clock position.

With a professional playing drummer at the helm of this design, you can bet this hat is "gig ready" right out of the box. From the wing nuts that are attached to the unit with leather straps to the drum key only tool design...this hat is a must.

Especially for ambidextrous players or those who wish to continue playing with (for right hander's) their right hand but not suffer from cross sticking disasters.

By moving the Hi Hat closer to the snare or even to the 11-12 O'clock position, one can now enjoy freedom of movement...yet still keep the left foot where it sits naturally.

The cable that runs through the swiveling pulleys sets easily for perfect action...I found the two set-screw clamp that holds the cable in place very easy to work with and allowed me to adjust the top hat/cable perfectly.

With two lengths of aluminum bars to secure the foot-board and top assembly, you will find the perfect position for this hat...I did.

The adjustment spring in the center of the top unit was also a breeze to set to my desired position.

If you are going to use this Hat with two bass drums you will have to place the foot-board to the right of the left bass drum pedal...which I was a bit concerned about at first...until I set it up this way. Literally within a day I was getting used to this new hat foot-position. And find it much more natural to play than the previous position of hat foot-board to the left of my left B.D. pedal. Why this pedal configuration isn't the norm is beyond me! But I for one LOVE this new pedal configuration.

This Hi-Hat is fantastic all around...I give it five out of five AmbA stars!

Below are a few pics of how this hat fits into a double bass drum pedal and double bass drums setup.
