Teaching

My Students are a very important part of my life...sharing my knowledge with them means a lot to me.

Michael Barton Teacher

The great teacher's in my life made a huge difference in my world...I can never repay them but I can pass it on.

Having my students musical "careers" in my hands is something I take very seriously so this section of my site is dedicated to them and their accomplishments.

Below are picture links to their pages. I am proud of everyone of them.

May music enrich their lives as much as it has mine.

Best to you all!
Michael

DRUM STUDENTS
DRUM STUDENTS

My drum students are taught proper grip technique to encourage efficient strokes. Arm, wrist and fingers are brought to light. Posture and foot techniques are also in play.

Rudimental studies and snare drum reading are very important to be a well rounded drummer.
Drumset playing; four-way independence and various styles of music studied.

All lessons are taught with ear protection and the importance of ear health/protection is firmly adhered to. My drum students are encouraged to play another melodic instrument.

It is also mandatory for all my drum students to include www.drummerworld.com into their lives as a superb and thorough resource for all things drums and drummers. The one and only.
