Resume:
- I have been playing drums for over 40 years and teaching drums for over 20 years.
- I have taught hundreds of students to play drums who have gone on to enjoy professional drumming positions in bands and orchestras or just to enjoy and enrich their lives with music/drums.
- I have studied percussion/drum-set privately and music composition and theory at University of Maine/Orono and Lawrence University.
- I work closely with Heid Music and Henri's Music to help my student acquire the best possible instruments at reasonable prices and support my students with these music stores to maintain/repair their instruments.
- Won the "Fastest Drummer Contest" held at Henri's Music in Green Bay 2007.
- Over 18 years of live playing, concerts and shows...playing along with the likes of George Benson, Peter Noonan (Herman's Hermit's) Gary Puckett & the Union Gap, Tony Bennett to Hank Thompson and many many acts in between.
- Over 20 years of studio experience as a hired player.
- I have over 25 years as an engineer/producer.
My teaching methods:
- I concentrate on sticking, grip options, proper foot technique, posture, rudiments, drum-set independence, reading music, relaxation while playing, endurance and speed, the mental aspect to drumming,
- drumming to music/our role as drummers.
- Video-taping lessons is available for an extra fee (Contact me for details).
- My teaching studio has two full drum-sets facing each other for better communication and instant visual feedback.
- I have all the practice pads, music stands and black boards available for instruction.
- I teach in half hour slots. (Contact me for current rates.)
- Music should be fun and learning should be fun. I try very hard to accomplish this goal!
