Michael Dorfman and his outstanding crew put together a drumset that would serve me in many ways...Jazz/fusion/rock/country/whatever gigs...I needed a set of drums that were big in sound but not big in size...plus have the versatility to bring a few or all the drums and still cover any style music.
I call them my "JAZZBO" TRICK's named after my beloved sister Jessica...who's knick-name from me was "Jazzbo..." Jessica left this earth much too early...but then...she was always master of her own fate...I love you and miss you terribly my little one...
8x10, 8x12, 12x14, 14x16 toms... a 6x14 snare and a 16x22 bass drum. I decided to go with a 22" kick as I changed my mind at the last moment...I believe I will have Michael make me an 18" kick later.
I also wanted a unique look...so I had Michael Z. from TRICK send me the templates they use and I created my own designs... similar in theme but a slightly different pattern on each drum...from toms to snare to bass drum, this is a beautiful set of drums!
The rims, lugs and some hardware was also coated in a lovely gold sparkle.
I love them...and the sound? TRICK all the way! Deep with a bunch of sustain and clear tone...consistent from drum to drum and these aren't even the heads I choose to use.
Enjoy these pics and soon I will get up some audio...but for now I think I'm just going to stare at them for a few weeks.
