The audio of these videos were captured using an on-camera condenser/limiting microphone so therefore the dynamics of Mr. Ward's playing is not realistically represented...I apologize for this...it is entirely my doing.

The 18th Annual Chicago Vintage & Custom Drum Show Billy Ward Clinic

Watching Billy play live is an experience all on its own...and the only way to truly appreciate the power, grace and mastery this fellow has on the instrument is to be there.

I was fortunate enough to attend this event.

I didn't want any whiz-bang editing on this project...I felt Billy's playing did that.

Trying to get all of this on tape is like taking a teaspoon of the ocean water and saying you've dropped the level...

I hope you enjoy these videos of Billy as much as I did editing them.

So starts Billy's Clinic...
Showtime

As Billy made his way to the stage a number of folks stopped him to say hello...the gal from his Master Class...Bart Elliot...myself...Our own Bill Bunkers makes his cameo appearance here...yay Bill!

Billy stepped up on stage, sat at his kit... gave a brief look out...said a few words I didn't catch...smiled alot and then hit "play" on his iPod.
(I believe that's what he was using to play songs with.)

Everyone was very happy to see him up there...

What a great song to start the clinic with...I couldn't catch a lot of what Billy said during the clinic as I was really trying to "get the shot."

Maybe we can get more info from him later...
